Artur Ruciński is internationally recognized as one of the foremost operatic baritones of his generation and among the most distinguished Polish singers to have achieved worldwide acclaim. Renowned for the beauty and nobility of his tone, commanding stage presence, and exceptional musicality, he is a regular guest at the world’s leading opera houses and festivals.
Born in Warsaw, he studied at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and began his career with the Warsaw Chamber Opera and Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, where he made his debut in the title role of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. His international breakthrough came in 2010 when Daniel Barenboim invited him to perform the same role at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, marking the beginning of a career that would take him to the most prestigious stages across Europe, North America and Asia.
Over the past decade and a half, Artur Ruciński has established himself as one of today’s leading interpreters of the Italian and Slavic repertoire. Throughout his career he has collaborated with many of the most influential conductors of our time, including Daniel Barenboim, Nello Santi,Daniel Oren, Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev, Fabio Luisi, Nicola Luisotti, Kirlil Petrenko, Bertrand de Billy and Ingo Metzmacher. His performances have been praised internationally for their vocal authority, stylistic refinement and compelling dramatic truth.
Recent seasons have brought major successes at the Metropolitan Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real Madrid, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Vienna State Opera and other leading international institutions, where he continues to appear in the central works of the Italian repertoire. His performances have further consolidated his reputation as one of the most sought-after baritones on the international stage.
Alongside his operatic career, Artur Ruciński is a distinguished concert artist whose repertoire ranges from Handel and Mozart to Mahler, Britten, Szymanowski and Penderecki. He has appeared with leading orchestras throughout Europe, North America and Asia, and has participated in numerous gala concerts, broadcasts and special events.
In the 2026/27 season, Artur Ruciński returns to several of the world’s most prestigious opera houses in new productions and revivals of cornerstone works of the Italian repertoire.
